On Saturday, 10 March, the TeachNZ team attended Auckland’s vibrant Pasifika Festival, celebrating its 20 years of success. It is the most significant cultural festival in the South Pacific and the largest festival of its kind. Throughout Western Springs Park each village created an amazing atmosphere with the variety of stalls, continuous entertainment and wonderful food.
The TeachNZ stall had thousands of visitors, and talked to many people about making a difference as a teacher. We were very grateful to have two Pasifika teachers giving up their time to help us on the day, and to talk to people about their own experiences.
The team also gave away information packs, and chilled TeachNZ apples which were extremely popular.
We highly recommend you visit next year – we look forward to seeing you there in 2013.
